Yes. Suika Game is officially available on iPhone and Android from its developer, Aladdin X. The iPhone version launched worldwide on March 7, 2024, after a Japan-only release on January 1, and the Android version followed worldwide on April 11, 2024. Apple Arcade also lists Suika Game+. Beyond those, the app stores are full of “watermelon games” from other developers, so it pays to check who made the one you’re downloading.

How do you find the real Suika Game in the app store? #
Search for “Suika Game” and you’ll see dozens of results with watermelons on the icon. A few checks sort out the official version:
- Check the developer name. The official game is from Aladdin X. On the App Store it’s printed under the app name. On Google Play it’s the name in green under the title.
- Read the screenshots. The official game uses the original fruit chain: cherry, strawberry, grapes, dekopon, persimmon, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, melon, watermelon. Our fruit order guide lists them.
- Look at the price model. The official iPhone version launched as a paid app in Japan. If a “Suika” app is free and asks you to buy coins or remove ads right away, it’s probably not from Aladdin X.
- Look at what data it collects. Both stores show a privacy section (“App Privacy” on iOS, “Data safety” on Google Play). A simple puzzle shouldn’t need your contacts or precise location.
Are Suika Game clones bad? #
Not necessarily. Many drop-and-merge games are made by developers who simply like the genre, and the basic idea (drop things, merge matching pairs, grow bigger things) isn’t owned by anyone. The concept itself came from a Chinese browser game, Merge Big Watermelon, released in January 2021 before Aladdin X’s version.
The problems are with apps that pretend to be the official game, copy its art, or are loaded with aggressive ads. Honest alternatives use their own name and theme and don’t claim to be Suika Game.
Is Suika Game free on mobile? #
The official versions aren’t free games in the usual app-store sense. The iPhone version launched in Japan at ¥240, and the Switch version is $2.99. If you already pay for Apple Arcade ($6.99 a month), Suika Game+ is included with no ads or purchases.
If you want a free option, several independent drop-and-merge games are free with ads. Just know you’re getting a different game with the same rule, not Suika.
A free alternative with its own twist #
Merge Panda is one of those independent games. It’s free on iPhone, iPad and Android and isn’t affiliated with Aladdin X. Instead of fruit in a box, you drop snacks into a bamboo crate and merge them up an 11-tier ladder that ends with the Emperor Panda. What’s different from Suika:
- Combos. Merges within about 2.2 seconds of each other chain together, worth up to 3x points.
- A forgiving game over. The run ends only when a settled piece stays above the dashed line for about two seconds.
- Daily goals. Three daily missions, a daily gift and a streak, plus coins to spend on cosmetic skins and board themes.
The trade-offs: it’s supported by ads (optional rewarded videos, plus an occasional ad between runs, at most one every 2.5 minutes), and it doesn’t have online leaderboards or multiplayer.
